Height Safety Training for Builders - Whangarei

Around 60 builders from Whangarei and surrounding areas, came from as far as the Bay of Islands to a safety event hosted by ITM Whangarei on Wednesday 7th October. Perhaps they were woo’d by the prospect of attending an ITM Cup game it the glorious Northland sunshine later that evening, but there is no doubt some valuable site safety tips and advice were also on offer.

Presenters from Worksafe New Zealand were supported by 4 safety product suppliers at the event. “It was pleasing to see such a good turnout of builders taking everything on board” said Health and Safety Inspector, Rod Grimwood. Easy Access Co.’s Corporate Sales Manager, Ben Foster presented a session on height safety, using Easy Access' range of ladders, scaffolds and roof edge protection products. “It’s always good to connect with builders using our products” says Ben, “whether training in the merchant’s yard, or when visiting them onsite”. All attendees at the event were eligible to claim skills maintenance points through Worksafe New Zealand.
