Is Your Mobile Scaffold Compliant?

Don't get caught out using non-compliant gear!

We have put together a buying guide to help ensure you purchase equipment that is compliant with NZ AS/NZS 1576 regulations!

Compliance Checklist:

Does the scaffold have a plan brace?

Mobile scaffolds with platform heights above 3m must have a plan brace to meet AS/NZS 1576 standards. Some suppliers sell scaffolds without these.

Platform height over 2m? It needs a toe board to comply!

Scaffolds with platforms over 2m require a toe board, though some suppliers sell it as an optional extra, which is non-compliant. All our mobile scaffolds over 2m come with a toe board.

Double-check for outriggers!

To meet the 3:1 height-to-width ratio, outriggers are needed if the height exceeds 3x the base width. For minor scaffolds (up to 2.0mH) this is a 2:1 ratio. We include them in our sets, unlike some other suppliers.

Got compliant guardrails?

Guardrails are mandatory where a person can fall from more than 2mH. We recommend and supply guardrails, on any tower with a platform height of over 1.0m.

Are you comparing ‘Scaffolds with Scaffolds’?

Some suppliers advertise scaffold height as the guardrail height, not platform height, which can mislead. Always check if the reach heights and other features match up.

Are replacement parts readily available?

As all our mobile scaffolds are made in NZ, we have all replacement parts available and componenets can be brought individually!

These are the main factors to be aware of when purchasing a mobile tower so you don't get stung by the extra costs of buying additional components to make a tower compliant.

However when you purchase an Easy Access mobile scaffold tower you know your tower will be compliant and ready to use.

So next time you are looking to purchase a mobile tower, don't look past Easy Access. NZ made, lifetime support, safe and ready to go plus replacement parts available!
