These seminars are part of the annual roadshow designed to update builders with the most relevant and the latest information they need to run a building business in NZ. With the objective of inspiring and supporting building practitioners in NZ, Building Hub works to promote the growth and success of the building industry. The primary focus is on providing assistance to builders towards maintenance of the Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) status through advice, on the job training and seminars that update them on the latest regulations on building contracts, health and safety requirements, general business aspects.

MAINTAIN YOUR LBP STATUS

The Easy Access training by height access experts counts towards the two examples of On-the-job training required for LBPs to undertake every 2 years in order to maintain your LBP status. Two examples are required to be shown where each one could be a project that demonstrates a new skill learnt on the job relevant to license class. These can include using a new product or material that has not been used earlier, design of installation of new cladding, how you completed a process in complicated situations of a terrain, elevation or wind zone.

Other important aspects covered in these seminars include a recap of building industry relevant law changes in 2017 as well as the upcoming changes in 2018. Mandatory health monitoring with nurses available to perform the tests is another important feature of the annual roadshow. Health monitoring is promoted by Worksafe to check if the health of building industry workers is affected from exposure to hazardous substances at the site.
